05 May 2021

22-April-21 LMV u13s lost to Totteridge Millhillians by 8 wickets
LMV lost their first match of the season to a strong Totteridge side by 8 wickets.
Put in to bat LMV made a promising start with Ben and Oli putting on 36 for the first wicket. Ben made an impressive 35 before being retired, and with contributions from Joseph (9) and Yishai (15) LMV finished with a competitive total of 118-8 in their 18 overs.
Totteridge's  batsmen were always up with the rate, and despite excellent spells from Yishai (18 runs off his 4 overs) and Joseph, who gave little away when bowling at the end of the innings,Totteridge reached their target with four balls to spare. There were wickets for Jake and Rafi, and in the field Charlie was outstanding with several athletic stops.
It should be remembered that our side contained four players from our u11s, so there is reason for optimism going in to our next match.
29-April-21 LMV u13s beat Southgate by 8 wickets
LMV put in a much-improved performance with the ball as they convincingly beat Southgate by 8 wickets with seven overs to spare.
Southgate won the toss and decided to bat, but were soon in trouble and after eight overs had been reduced to 33-6.The bowling was tight with very little being given away and the fielding much improved on the previous week. There were three wickets for Rafi and Jake, and Yishai returned figures of 4-2-5-1. There were three stumpings for Ben, and two run-outs which meant Southgate were bowled out for 62 in the 19th over.
LMV again made a confident start with an opening stand of 30 between Ben and Yoni, making his debut. After they had both been retired Oli and Yishai continued to score freely. It was left to Judah and LJ to reach the target, with LJ hitting his first ball for four to seal the win.
