London Maccabi Vale Cricket Club Lost by 93 runs (ouch)

Match report British Airways 258-7 beat LMV 2nd XI 165-6 by 93 runs.

What at one time looked like being a close contest eventually turned into a non-event as British Airways's Bangalore player hit a sparkling 91 off only 41 balls to take the BI total well out of reach of LMV.

Jonathan Freedman took his tally of wickets to 25 by buying a couple of cheap wickets at the end, and although Sim Cohen, Gideon Gale, Jonathan Lederman and up until his last over Joseph Greenwall Cohen all bowled well, it was the final few overs onslaught that took the game out of LMV's reach. Although to be honest our ground fielding was well below par, which didn't help matters.

In reply a 1st wicket stand of 66 between Jeremy "Bomber" Harris (20 [2x4]) and Jeffrey Permutt (48 [7x4]) was the highlight of the innings, although a couple of cameos from Jonathan Cantor (35 [6x4]) and Benjamin the wonder kid (30 but no boundaries [more shredded wheat required])were pleasing on the eye.

Mark Spanjar had a very confused afternoon. Having played near the airport last week when he couldn't tell, if the planes were taking off or landing. This week he could see them doing both and is still trying work out what was going on! He has asked that we don't mention his wicket keeping in this report so I won't!

Our last match is this Sunday (if we can find one) and we are looking for another win to round off what has been a much better than average season for us.
