London Maccabi Vale Cricket Club Lost by 190 Runs

Match report Vale second eleven were beaten by the better side on Sunday in blustery conditions at Rowley Lane.
Having lost the toss we spent the afternoon chasing leather. A couple of close shouts early in the innings, that did not go our way, may have changed things. However, a combination of bowling down the wrong line, poor groundfielding and a couple of dropped chances meant SKLP amassed 325 from their 40 overs. The only bowler worth a mention is Michael Ziff who bowled a good line and length.
In reply, eight an over was always going to be a challenge and we fell well short. Only three batsmen reached double figures. Many congratulations to Jonathan Freedman who batted superbly in his best ever knock of 68. He showed great control and shot selection despatching the ball to all parts of the ground hitting 12 4's and two sixes. This was an innings that will surely mean he will be batting higher up the order in future.
