Dear all
Pleased to report on another win for the 2nds on Sunday, keeping up their 100% Chess Valley League record (3 wins out of 3). Bowling first, we restricted Ruislip to 221-8 off their allotted 45 overs with Steven Allweis bowling a miserly spell of 9 overs 2-14 and excellent support from Yoni Latner with 2-41 again showing great promise for a 16 year old asked to open the league bowling. Mention also for heroics in the field from Joe Swerling and Dylan Harrod.
In response, Vale lost their first 5 wickets for 102, despite 40 from Joe Swerling to leave the match very much in the balance. But, enter Rafi Saville with a swashbuckling 72not out (4 x6) and Steven Allweis 42 not out with an unbroken 120 stand to take the game away from Ruislip and leave us victors by 5 wickets with 7 overs to spare.
This Sunday we are due to play two matches - 1st team league @ Southgate CC, and Development Team (friendly). Please can everyone update availability on Pitchero asap?
Finally, a reminder of two important upcoming events:
1. Sunday 25 July @ Rowley Lane - 9.30-11am coaching session with former Australian Test Match player Julien Wiener for all junior players and Q&A with Julien for all juniors and adults at 11am in the Clubhouse.
2. Sunday 2 July @ Potters Bar CC - 9am meet for annual Kids and Parents' tournament followed by Lunch and Junior Player awards.
