London Maccabi Vale Cricket Club 2nd XI v Bourne End on Sun 13 May 2012 at 14.00
London Maccabi Vale Cricket Club Won

Match report First game of the season saw the debut of Avi Hoddes, Alex Brodkin and Sam Ellard. Avi and Alex opened the bowling and after dusting off the cobwebs from their kit they both looked much the part. After a quick start from Bourne End they reached 49 for the first wicket. However, after the introduction of spin in the form of Avi Schwarz and Simeon Cohen they started to lose wickets and in turn the run rate slowed right down. They were followed by Jeff Permutt who also helped himself to a wicket as they reached 120 odd off 30 overs. A special mention should be made to Jeremy Harris who took 2 good catches. All this was topped off by Dan COhen who mopped up the tail helping himself to five wickets and restricting them to 143 all out.

The top order all looked promising but all fell cheaply before Dan cohen came in at number 6 and helped himseld to a good 58. His only mistake was some running out Avi Hoddes. However, Avi Schwarz and Simeon Cohen were able to see the side home with 5 overs to spare.

Well done to all.
