Hope you're keeping well?
Pleased to report on a great few weeks cricket by our LMVCC teams and in particular great performances by our ever growing pool of talented youngsters (with a sprinkling of "senior" players to guide them along).
As I write this, our U13 are joint top of their Middx League and the U15 teams are second in theirs, with a game in hand. To put things in context, both teams were promoted last season and if promoted this season would join the top divisions in their competitions - fantastic progress and a real testament to Head of Juniors Anthony Wise and our expert coaches who work with him.
Equally pleasing, now that exam season is over/nearly over for most, lots of the juniors are getting involved in the senior sides. On Sunday, we had 16 out of the 22 players playing for the 2nds and Development X11s who were under 20 years old.
Particular mention to the 2s who gave Chalfont and St Peter what can only be described as an absolute thrashing in the Chess Valley League, bowling them out for 154 and then Ben Musikant (aged just 13) and Benjy Lovat scored the required runs without us losing a wicket in 25 overs (out of 45)!!! Great also to see club legend Micky Okin supporting us at the game along with El Presidente Terry Hyman and Tony Cohen.
Please can everyone help us keep up this momentum by making themselves available for coming matches and, most importantly letting the team organisers know well in advance your availability (both for junior and senior teams)?
