London Maccabi Vale Cricket Club News story

MAY UPDATE

22 May 2022

Good afternoon

I'm writing this after helping at Junior training, where we had 35 kids playing across the two sessions, which is fantastic.

Since I last wrote an update, the Juniors have excelled in their matches with every game being closely fought and some brilliant cricket being played. Stars of the show so far are the U11s who have won 3 of their 4 matches. It's also worth noting that both the U13 and U15 teams went up a division at the end of last season so the fact they are holding their own shows we are continuing to raise our standards across the board.

On the adult front, we already have two centurions to report at opposite ends of the scale of experience - Jon "evergreen" Feigenbaum vs London Nigerians and Ethan "the whippersnapper" Tobias in an excellent 6 wicket win against Belmont and Edgware.

Availability for the adult teams has been poor thus far with exams taking out lots of our players. We're hoping that will get better now, but could really do with everyone pitching in to get some momentum with our three adult sides.

A few other points to note:

1. For Juniors, Anthony Wise is available to do 1:1 coaching outside of the training sessions/matches and I would recommend him highly to you - email/call him direct to organise (anthonywisey@aol.com).

2. Extra club kit is available to purchase via the dedicated Gray Nicholls web page - https://www.gray-nicolls.co.uk/collections/maccabi-vale-cricket-club?ref=13303

3. Anyone still to pay subs - please do so so we don't have to chase you, thanks.

4. Date for your diary - Club Day with Father & Sons' Tournament, barbeque and 6 aside afternoon tournament will be on Monday 29 August. Please put in the diary now.

Best regards,

Alex Haffner
